ARAMCO KOREA CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS TO NEW KOREA COUNTRY CLUB WITH NEW 72-HOLE FORMAT AND $2M PURSE

08 September 2026

Golf Saudi champions the return of the Aramco Korea Championship, co-sanctioned with the LET, as part of the PIF Global Series.

World-class women’s golf returns to New Korea Country Club October 8–11 as the Aramco Korea Championship lands in Seoul with a fresh competitive look: a traditional four-day, 72-hole individual strokeplay tournament featuring a $2 million prize fund and Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking points.

Contested under the PIF Global Series banner, the 2026 edition strips away the previous team format to put the spotlight entirely on four rounds of elite strokeplay. The championship returns to the base of Bukhansan Mountain looking to build on last year's success, where home favourite and Major champion Hyo Joo Kim produced a masterclass final round to take the title in front of thousands of Korean fans.

Fresh off August's PIF London Championship, the 108-player field brings together Major winners, LPGA titlists, and the LET’s leading order-of-merit contenders. Player entries are anchored by two prominent Korean American players and Golf Saudi Ambassadors: Major champion and six-time LPGA winner Danielle Kang, alongside two-time LET winner and US Solheim Cup star Alison Lee, while the rest of the player roster is to be confirmed.

"Playing at New Korea Country Club is always a standout week on my tour schedule," said Danielle Kang, Major Champion and Golf Saudi Ambassador. "Korean golf fans bring an energy and golf IQ you simply do not find anywhere else. Moving to a 72-hole individual strokeplay test raises the competitive bar for all of us, and I cannot wait to get back out there and play in front of these crowds."

Alison Lee, two-time LET winner and fellow Golf Saudi Ambassador, echoed that excitement ahead of her return to Seoul. "Competing in Korea has a deeply personal pull for me, and taking on New Korea Country Club under a pure four-day strokeplay format makes the challenge even better," Lee said. "Beyond what happens on the course, this week is about showing young girls across Asia what is possible in professional sport, and I am excited to see that momentum continue in October."

Off the fairways, the tournament continues to serve as an active bridge between Riyadh and Seoul. Staged alongside long-term host partner KOLON Group, the week will feature a fan zone, business panels, women’s sports panels and tourism activations, bringing together Korean commercial partners, Golf Saudi leadership, c-suite executives and fans to explore trade linkages, sports investment, and emerging luxury travel between both markets.

"Korea has one of the sharpest, most passionate golf cultures anywhere in the world, making it a critical fixture on our global calendar," said Noah Alireza, Chief Executive Officer of Golf Saudi. "Returning to New Korea Country Club alongside KOLON Group and the LET is about two things: giving the world's best female players an uncompromising competitive stage and opening tangible business and tourism pipelines between Saudi Arabia and South Korea.

"Welcoming the Aramco Korea Championship back to New Korea Country Club is an incredible opportunity for domestic sports fans and local enterprise alike," said Lee Kyu-Ho, Vice Chairman of KOLON Group. "Moving to four days of individual strokeplay gives the tournament the competitive weight it deserves, while our off-course collaborations continue to foster real economic and cultural exchange between Korea and Saudi Arabia."

New Korea Country Club will also roll out an expanded tournament village catering to families, sports enthusiasts, and lifestyle crowds across the four days:

General admission tickets start from KRW 15,000, with complimentary free entry granted to all youth and juniors aged 16 and under accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
